Objection Intelligence

The reason they did not buy, in their own words.

What is objection intelligence?

Objection intelligence is the ranked, verbatim record of why customers did not buy, taken from consented in-store sales conversations rather than from a lost-reason field the advisor fills in after the customer has left.

Also searched as: lost sale reasons, customer objection analysis, why walk-ins do not convert. Part of the Market & Competitor Intelligence use case.

Ask the floor why a customer walked and the answer is price. Ask the customer and it almost never is. Objection Intelligence gives you the customer's answer: the EMI tenure, the delivery date, the spouse who was not in the store, the feature nobody explained. Every objection, from every conversation, aggregated into the clearest read on your business you have never had.

The blind spot

The objection is the most valuable sentence a customer says, and it is heard by exactly one person, who summarises it as “price” on the way to the next customer. That summary is what reaches head office. The customer's words never do. So the discount is offered where a delivery promise would have closed, and the training module is written on price handling when the real gap is finance.

Worse, the objection that is spiking this week in one city is invisible until conversion drops. By then it has been said a thousand times, and the answer was always in the room.

What changes

  • The customer's actual words replace the floor's summary. You read what was said, not what type of thing it was.
  • Objections become a ranked, moving picture: what is rising, where, on which model, this week.
  • Handling becomes visible. Who acknowledges, who answers, who leaves it hanging, and what happens next.
  • Four teams read one report: sales for the pattern, training for the gap, finance for the offer, category for what a price point triggers.

What you will know

  • The top objections this month, ranked by how often they end a conversation, not just how often they appear.
  • The phrases customers use, grouped, ready for offer design and training copy.
  • Which advisors turn an objection around and which lose the customer at it.
  • A spike the week it starts, city by city, model by model.

On the floor

A dealership group watches “delivery timeline” overtake “price” as the top objection on one model for two months running. The floor had reported price throughout. The customers' own words go to the supply team weeks before lost bookings would have said the same thing. On the floor, most advisors answer the timeline objection with an apology; the two who offer a committed date in writing keep the customer, and their answer becomes the trained one.

Questions this answers

  • Which objections are killing your conversions this month, and are you sure?
  • When a shopper says “it's too expensive,” do you know what they actually mean: price, EMI, or value?

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a survey or an NPS comment?

A survey is what a customer chooses to tell a form afterwards, if they respond. This is what they said at the moment of decision, in every consented conversation. One is a sample of the willing. The other is the floor.

Are the objection categories ours or generic?

Yours. Retail has a common core, and every vertical has its own: hostel availability for a counselling centre, network coverage for telecom, possession date for real estate. Borentis learns the ones that matter on your floor.

Who in the company should read this?

Whoever decides the offer. In most companies that is four people who have never seen the same report. Now they do.
